Theatre in the Karlovy Vary Region, founded in 1961 as the first professional repertory theatre in Cheb. The theatre gained an important cachet in the Czech theatrical sphere, not only due to its sophisticated repertoire, but also thanks to the periods of new productions which belonged to the ""peak"" of Czech theatre. The theatre produces its own plays in dramatical area and for its visitors imports other genres and theatrical forms.
Since 1981 the theatre organises the biennale „Cheb Monodrama Festival“, the only Czech festival of monodramas featuring artists from all over the world.
The theatre space has a capacity of 300 and the Studio D can seat up to 60.
