PerformCzech – Shortening the Distance between Czech and Foreign Performing Arts
PerformCzech provides a range of activities related to internationalization of the current Czech performing arts scene: theatre, dance, contemporary circus and interdisciplinary projects.
PerformCzech is an information portal in English for performing arts professionals that provides information about the current Czech performing arts scene and mediates information, contacts and propositions for international collaboration.
PerformCzech initiates projects, platforms and activities that link the current Czech performing arts scene with artists, organizations, networks and organizations abroad.
PerformCzech supports the professional growth and internationalization of the contemporary Czech performing arts scene.
PerformCzech activities are coordinated by the International Cooperation Department of the Arts and Theatre Institute (ATI) as a state-funded organization founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. Its mission is to provide the Czech and international public with a comprehensive range of services in the field of theatre, dance, music, literature and visual arts.
PerformCzech’s advisory body is PerformCzech Dramaturgical Board.
Our activities:
- PerformCzech LINKS OUT: presentation of productions and artists from the Czech Republic at international performing arts markets and festivals
- PerformCzech LINKS: support and organization of events in the Czech Republic and abroad that present contemporary Czech performing arts for foreign professionals
- PerformCzech PROVISITS: curated missions for groups of theatre and dance professionals from the Czech Republic aimed at establishing contacts and cooperation in a given territory
- PerformCzech CONNECT: projects to support the joint creation of Czech and foreign artists (e.g. also through participation in projects supported by European programmes)
- PerformCzech SKILLS: educational projects aimed at developing skills in self-presentation, digital marketing and promotion
- PerformCzech PROMO: promotional materials designed for the internationalisation of Czech performing arts (web presentations, social networks, printed and online materials)
- Homebase of Czech centres of international theatre NGOs (AICT, ASSITEJ, ITI, OISTAT, UNIMA) and membership in professional networks (IETM, PACE.V4)
- Research activities (especially research on theatre after 1989 and theatre audiences within the framework of the European Theatre Night)
