The theatre is located in the Nusle district of Prague, opposite the former Nusle Brewery. It began its not always rosy history in November 1921, when it was still called the Tyl Theatre. After a twenty-year break, the Theatre Na Fidlovačce reopened to the public on 28 October 1998. The dramaturgy focuses on a repertoire that includes a humorous and positive view of the world.Since 2006, the theatre has also run a small stage - The Chamber Fidlovačka.
