The professional theater for children and young people has been operating in Brno since 1949. Its founder and first director was the teacher and prominent amateur puppet director Vladimír Matoušek, who was one of the leading figures of the interwar generation of Czech puppetry. Theater is focused on cooperation with major European and domestic artists. The theater has a repertoire of productions aimed at children from the age of 6 months to young people and adult audiences.
Every two years, the theater organizes its own international theater festival named Festival Radosti for children, teenagers, and adults, dedicated to productions focused on working with puppets, objects and artifacts.
