The Petr Bezruč Theater was officially opened on December 13th 1945 in Ostrava. Since its debut, it has been mainly focusing on productions dedicated to younger audiences and all those who are not afraid of current themes and unconventional treatments. Its repertoire focuses on original dramaturgy including modern remakes of classic plays, new dramatic works as well as interesting, „cult“ literary works and works with regional topics. The theatre has two stages - a large stage and an intimate space called the Morgue (Márnice). 

They are frequent guests in many cities in the Czech Republic and abroad, and cooperates with renown directors, but also gives space to young talented artists.
