The only periodic showcase of representative productions of Czech and Moravian professional opera companies. Since 2015, the festival has been attended by Slovak professional companies.
The festival has been held every other year since 1993. It enables regular comparisons of the direction and level of individual companies and broadens the opera offer in Prague - it offers titles that have not been performed in Prague for several decades (or even at all), as well as a different view of the titles currently in the repertoire of Prague theatres. Last but not least, the festival also introduces remarkable personalities (directors, conductors, singers and other artists) who are active on regional opera stages and in the alternative theatre scene.
