Another distinctive name of this year’s edition is Raimund Hoghe – Pina Bausch’s ex-programmer, now the fundamental figure of German dance. The 11th edition of the Zero Point festival will take place from 15th to 20th July 2019 in the V Celetné Theatre, Hybernská Campus and X10 Theatre.

“The second festival decade starts with an unbelievable programme. Raimund Hoghe and Dana Michel rank among the top dancers and it is great we have managed to bring them to Prague. It is proof of the improving status of the Zero Point,” adds the programmer Petr Boháč.

On Monday 15th July, the Zero Point 2019 will start the new performance CUTLASS SPRING by Canadian performer Dana Michel. It will provide an impressive and unexpected point of view of the liberation of one’s body. Dana Michel explores the limits of her sexuality and sexual habits: it is possible to observe one’s instinct when we are surrounded by society which tells us how to behave and our dearest often have very specific expectations? The performance CUTLASS SPRING confirms originality and humor of the distinctive artist with the Silver Lion Award at the Biennial in Venice in 2017. Wednesday, July 17th will see one of the most outstanding German choreographers Raimund Hoghe. He was a programmer of the legendary Tanztheater Wuppertal led by Pina Bausch and has received many awards – from the Prix de la Critique in 2006 to the Dancer of 2008. The 70-year-old artist will bring the dance performance Songs for Takashi, which is a result of cooperation with the Japanese dancer Takashi Ueno. The performance is inspired by renaissance and medieval Spanish music.

The next highlight of the festival is the Catalonian performer Xavier Bobés. He will present his intimate performance for five viewers called Things Easily Forgotten, interpretong Spanish history of the late 20th century. The Polish performer Marta Ziółek will perform in Make Yourself, oscillating between political criticism, sarcastic jokes, and advertising. Tereza Bartůňková and Jan Čtvrtník will offer a vivid audio-visual trip through the post-apocalyptic landscape in the performance Tamura. In her performance Second Nature, Agata Siniarska shows interest in the climatic crisis and fights with it in her own way. The festival will also present the premiere of a theatre experiment related to a performance, installation and an escape game performed by Tantehorse called Osudety: In the Middle of Nowhere. The programme also features solo performance in progress Roselyne, performed by Cecile Da Costa, who has been associated with the Spitfire Company from the Czech Republic for a long time.

Like every year, the festival organizes workshops for professionals and students of all art disciplines. The accompanying music programme is prepared in cooperation with Palác Akropolis and Art Public by Marie Čtveráčková aka Mary C. The performer will be the Japanese musician Midori Hirano aka MimiCof, who will bring the third album “Moon Synch”. The sound artist and researcher Barbara Ellison will present the cycle of trans-humanist “Cybersongs”. The music and performative section will also feature several performances of the music company Interference Collective from Washington, focusing on new music and new media.
