Cristina Maldonado investigates the practical aspects of our everyday management of death, visiting different cities around the world, interviewing experts and observing local approaches. She then dramaturgically interprets this material to create performances. Tárrega is the first city in this learning journey, which began in 2022. About the company
Cristina Maldonado is a Prague-based Mexican artist working in the fields of immersive, participatory and relational art, video-performance, performative writing and site-specific performance. For the past two decades, she has worked independently as a director, collaborator, international exchange producer, tutor and teacher in experimental and intermedia arts. She is an associate artist at IN SITU, the European platform for creation in public space as part of the (UN)COMMON SPACES project, co-financed by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union. She is also a member of the National System of Art Creators, Experimental Audiovisual Media Mexico 2021-23.
