About the company

Puppet Theatre Ostrava is a professional stage for children and young people from the entire Moravian-Silesian region and beyond. The founder is the Statutory City of Ostrava.
Puppet Theatre Ostrava performs for kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools. Every Thursday and Sunday they put on performances for the public. Family performances gain special attention here, but they also reach out to teenagers with productions about difficult topics during adolescence. It could be said that the theatre educates audiences from the age of 6 months to adulthood.
Puppet Theatre Ostrava also offers educational programmes such as seminars and workshops for students and teachers.
Every other year, the theatre hosts the Spectaculo Interesse International Puppetry Festival, one of the most popular festivals in Europe. This festival transforms Ostrava into a European centre of puppetry and presents the best in puppetry from all over the world to the general public.
