The Logic of Chaos: RUN OPERUN’s drama The Logic of Chaos explores the impact of minor neurotic disorders, obsessions, and fear on ordinary social situations. Four people meet at a party in a stranger’s apartment. Four people, four different views, one night. Who is right and who would be better off leaving?

The Logic of Chaos is a contemporary piece where opera meets electronic music. Based on a libretto by Vilma Bořkovec, musicians Kryštof Kříček a Václav Havelka (Please The Trees) have composed music with a large amount of operatic improvisation.

The team was inspired by their own experiences with obsessive thoughts. How do these thoughts influence our communication with others? Are obsessions normal? What is normal anyway?

About the company

“If you won’t come to the opera, the opera will come to you!”

Long active in Prague’s opera scene, RUN OPERUN is an independent arts organisation. Our main aspiration is to bring opera closer to audiences who feel detached from the genre and thus expand public interest in opera. At the same time, we uphold the principles of modern, high-quality opera production. RUN OPERUN transcends traditional understandings of opera, and, in this sense, promotes and de facto shapes the ideals of an opera underground.

The creators of our opera performances are predominantly students or graduates of directing, dramaturgy, scenography, design, acting, singing, music performance and music production. Each team member holds a position that reflects their former education, allowing them to garner new experiences and apply their skills and ideas. RUN OPERUN’s overall aim is to create a community of new artists, who share the same values, which allow them to embark on comprehensive projects with a clear vision.

RUN OPERUN was founded by Veronika Loulová, a goal-oriented opera director who has been involving various artists in her circle in this project since she was nineteen. Since then, she and her colleagues have repeatedly received support from several important Czech institutions, such as the Prague City Hall, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
