A scripted reality show, an autobiographical confession and a 21st-century literary event: all of this can be said of My Struggle, a series of six novels by Karl Ove Knausgård, a Norwegian writer living in Sweden. The theme of this epic work is life itself – everyday activities and exceptional moments. My Struggle can be understood not only as the story of a specific writer but, above all, as a testimony about us, our feelings and the thoughts we only rarely admit to ourselves.
