Hey, Earth!

Fascinating journey through movement theatre and interpersonal communication.

The performance Hey, Earth! invites you on a journey into a world where movement theater, new circus, and visual art blend together. You’ll find yourself in an environment rich with rituals, fantasy, and a quest for understanding, where every movement and object on stage carries meaning.

This experimental project by Cirk La Putyka and director Thomas Steyaert deliberately steps outside audience expectations. It explores the boundaries of human communication, creating tension not only through acrobatic feats but also through minimalism, silence, and static imagery. The stage, filled with objects that performers use to build and deconstruct the world around them, opens a new space for imagination.

Unlike traditional circus performances, where one act follows another, here the circus appears and disappears, helping to create unique emotions. The performance continues the exploration seen in previous Cirk La Putyka projects, such as Black Black Woods or Hit, Tell the Difference.

Hey, Earth! offers not only a visual experience but also deep reflection on human values and relationships in a time of conflict and uncertainty. The atmosphere is enhanced by the music of Jan Balcar and Veronika Linhartová.

About the company

Since 2008 the originally small group of enthusiasts who wanted to create a single performance has grown into a grouping of almost one hundred actors, dancers, acrobats, musicians, producers, technicians, doctors, make-up artists and other professionals.

Following the unexpected success of the debut show La Putyka the brothers Rosťa and Vítek Novák founded Cirk La Putyka. The first as the artistic director and the second as the executive director have since then set the direction and speed of travel for our theatre and contemporary circus wagon.

Over the almost fifteen years of our existence we created more than 30 projects, we cooperated with more than 300 people of 25 nationalities, we gave more than 2,200 performances and visited more than 23 countries.
