Let the body speak!
This project aims to reveal the physical impact and internal body feedback that is often invisible during a performance. We seek to explore the complex relationship between the body, mind and technology, offering a thought-provoking and engaging experience for both the audience and the artist.
Frequency is a circus project that combines circus arts and body monitoring technology.
With the ever-increasing presence of electronic devices, our every move is being constantly monitored. What information is being collected about us? Can we foster a dialogue between the circus artist and the real-time data captured by these devices? How can they influence each other in the present moment? Can they mutually enrich the creative process? Our exploration aims to unveil the collaboration between the circus artist and the technology.

About the company
Alžběta Tichá
Bětka is a circus artist with experience in modern dance. She studied at the Duncan Centre Conservatory in Prague before discovering her passion for contemporary circus. Through physical theatre and object manipulation, she arrived at her specialism in aerial acrobatics. In 2020, she graduated from Codarts – University of Arts in the Netherlands with a major in vertical rope. Her primary artistic work focused on “intuitive movement” in acrobatics, with animal movement as her main inspiration. Together with this concept she developed the technique of masks in acrobatics. With her further interest in “circus dramaturgy,” which she accessed through her original work, she graduated from the ICCAR program in 2023. She is currently exploring how to approach her work in circus disciplines and address dramaturgy in this field and has begun to work on a new concept and area of research focusing on feelings and body language during stage performance, using technology to further develop this work. Alžběta has also worked as a performer in projects such as Thin Skin by Eliška Brtnická et al, The Jungle Book by Štěpán Pechar and Matěj Forman, Body Landscape by Radim Vizváry and others.
