Can we become who we want, look how we want and do what we want in the online world? A multimedia production about love in our time.
A young couple is given a generous opportunity: they have to play themselves in an online reality show and try to gain followers. But this seemingly easy task ends up shattering everything they’ve known until now… Is it possible to present ourselves online in a truly authentic way? Are we choosing to behave as we do today, or are we just seeking to fit comfortably into a formula? What sort of hell have humans created by following images instead of God?
This multimedia theatre production has been created with the use of modern technologies as part of the European Union’s programme Creative Europe Face to Faith, in which theatres from Germany, Israel, Poland, Italy, Finland and Ukraine are collaborating with Pod Palmovkou Theatre. This unique production features on-stage audience interaction and a modern information system created by two young Romanian artists, which encourages the audience to think about today’s technology during the performance through modern video technology, screens and the spoken word.
Pod Palmovkou Theatre is a repertoire theatre with a permanent acting ensemble. The company’s primary dramaturgy includes plays from the classical repertoire with contemporary staging languages and forms, new Czech plays and world premieres, and theatrical adaptations of originally non-theatrical works. Pod Palmovkou Theatre has a large hall for 280 spectators and Studio PALM OFF, which seats 80 spectators. In addition to the spaces primarily intended for theatre performances, the theatre also has a rehearsal room and a gallery in the foyer, where exhibitions of contemporary art regularly take place.
