The Happy Prince | Perform Czech

Behind the walls of beautiful palaces, where only dancing, drinking and living is easy, there is a world quite different. Maybe ugly, but certainly real. In the middle of that world stands a beautiful golden statue of a prince who has gems instead of eyes. The Prince looks down every day on the misery of the people he has not known in his life. Winter is slowly approaching, and the swallows fly south, except for one whose sympathetic heart is ultimately stronger than the desire for exotic warm lands. But what about the Prince’s lead heart? Can it resound with love and compassion?

The spectacular production was created in cooperation with the Forman Brothers Theater.

About the company

Lampion Theater is an alternative and puppet scene of the Municipal Theater in Kladno.

It focuses primarily on puppet and object theater, but not programmatically, in our productions we also work with drama, movement and music theater practices.

At present, Jan Krafka is the director of the theater and Lucie Radimerská is the artistic director.
