One crow for malice, two for mirth.
Three for marriage,
Four for birth.
Five for silver, six for gold
Seven for a secret never to be told.
Eight for heaven, nine for hell
Ten to the devil, wherever he may dwell.
Bearers of secrets and dreams, crows both live alongside us and occupy their own territories, far away from people. Their colour, hunched posture and fondness for carcasses have caused them to be perceived as a symbol of death. But they symbolise birth, too. Crows is a physical performance accompanied by live music and situated within the installed object.
Audience: adult, children 10+
About the company
The Holektiv company was founded in 2016, when Andrea Vykysalá, Eva Stará and Karolína Křížková were united by a desire to create together. This meeting led to the formation of a purely female ensemble on the Czech cultural scene. The name Holektiv is a play on words combining the Czech for a group of girls or women with koletiv (collective). Holektiv combines and connects genres such as physical theatre, dance and contemporary circus. Over the years, the company has managed to create a unique signature style and aesthetic poetry.
Holektiv works and performs on the Czech and international scenes. In addition to choreographic and interpretive projects, it is also involved in dance and circus pedagogy.
