The eleventh edition of the Theatre Night will traditionally take place on the third Saturday in November – 18 November 2023, this year with the subtitle “FIRE!”. The biggest theatre celebration will once again offer tours, theatre workshops, discussions with creators, and performances – for free or for a symbolic admission fee.

On Saturday 18 November 2023, theatres across the country will present a packed programme. The Night of Theatres offers unusual experiences such as workshops for children and adults, backstage tours of theatres, discussions with actors, stage designers and directors and other formats of theatre encounters that you won’t find in the regular programme. The event is part of the international European Theatre Night project, which was launched in 2008 by the Croatian Night of Kazališta. The idea of a common theatre celebration has gradually spread to more than a dozen European countries. Over 50,000 people in the Czech Republic find their way to the theatre on the third Saturday of November every year. Theatre Night in the Czech Republic is the largest event within the European Theatre Night.

From 2024, Theatre Night will now be held on the Saturday closest to World Theatre Day, which for next year is 23 March. The date change was decided following a vote by the theatres participating in the tenth annual Night of Theatres.
