How do young artists from the Czech Republic, America or Asia compose? What music worlds do the most experienced composers and performers famous for their leading labels, activities at universities or their original work offer? What iconic avant-garde works from the past will Ostrava remember this time? Ten festival days on 22 – 31 August tried to answer these three essential questions. This year’s Ostrava Days offered great orchestra pieces, opera, choir, chamber and conceptual works, electronic music and happenings.
