Anezka and Kamila are the best of friends. They just haven’t seen each other in twenty years. One grew up in a caravan in Switzerland, the other in a tower block in Prague. A handful of years, a few schools, a few experiences – and a shared dance. Can they rekindle the strong bond of childhood, or have they grown too far apart? How much are we shaped by the environment we grow up in?
Can an outsider truly understand a native, or is the language of another tribe forever out of reach? A performance about searching for home in the land of your birth, finding your place in your own hood, and an evening when two worlds collide.
About the company
Collective Coller is an open group of independent artists that functions as a platform supporting the creation of original artistic projects at the intersection of theatre, dance, contemporary circus, and music. Collective Coller emerged five years ago at Studio Citadela in Prague, in connection with actress and dancer Anežka Hessová. Over the past four years, the group has created three original performances:
When We Play, which tells the personal story of Rozálie Havelková and her experience with the Belgian circus Ronaldo.
Meeting Dating Loving deals with the phenomenon of romance scamming and examines the basic human need for love, belonging, and connection.
My Hood, an original piece that explores the lives of children of migrants and nomads – those who have assimilated into society, yet still feel like outsiders.
