The Janáček Theatre in Brno has opened after reconstruction

November 17, 2018 saw the premiere of The Cunning Little Vixen at the National Theatre Brno and it also opened the 6th international opera and music festival Janáček Brno 2018.

The programme of the festival was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia with Leoš Janáček’s complete stage works in the productions of world-famous artists, such as Ivo van Hove, Robert Carsen, Kornél Mundruczó and Alvis Hermanis. The conductors were Tomáš Hanus, Tomáš Netopil and Marko Ivanović. The anniversary and the festival were the opportunity to open the Janáček Theatre, the biggest theatre hall in the Czech Republic, after extensive reconstruction.
