The production of The Mother at the National Theatre Brno to be performed in Israel

The National Theatre Drama in Brno is about to have prestigious guest performances at the Habima Theatre, the national theatre in Israel. It will perform its successful production of Karel Čapek’s The Mother directed by Štěpán Pácl, the principal director of the National Theatre Drama in Brno.

The Mother, written by Karel Čapek 85 years ago, premiered on 8 April 2022 in the Reduta Theatre in Brno. The show will be on in the famous and prestigious Habima National Theatre in Israel. The Czech Centre in Tel Aviv helped a lot with promotion and organization. The logistics of the project required the maximum effort of many NTB employees. Loading the set pieces, costumes, and technical devices into the container took place before Christmas on 22 December 2022. The truck delivered the container to Bremerhaven in Germany, then it sailed on the ship to Ashdod in Israel, where it landed on 22 January. The drama company and the team necessary for the show will fly to Tel Aviv on 3 and 4 February.

The cooperation between both theatres does not end with the two performances in Tel Aviv. The Habima company will perform The One My Soul Loves in Brno, which is a performance about the attack on the LGBTQ+-friendly venue in Tel Aviv in 2009. It will be staged at the Theatre World Brno festival, which is organized by the National Theatre Brno and ranks among the most outstanding theatre festivals in the Czech Republic.
