Goldilocks

obr

Who can cook up a surprise for the greedy tongue of a gluttonous king? His subjects? His servants? The cooks? And what happens when an unexpected guest knocks on the door? One thing is certain – no one wants to incur the king’s wrath.

A techno-mechanical puppet fairy tale tells the story of George. His curiosity has led him to master the language of animals and now he’s off an adventurous journey to find Princess Goldilocks for his king.

About the company

Based in Brno since 1999, Polárka is a professional theatre for children and youth. Polárka focuses on work for young audiences, from the youngest spectators (under three years of age) up to high school and university students.

To give young spectators the widest possible overview of what “theatre” can mean, Polárka’s’s repertoire includes many different forms and genres. A self-described “spectator’s guide to theatrical adulthood,” Polárka strives to cultivate young audiences’ relationship to theatre as a specific art form and means of expression, teaching them to recognise true artistic quality and consciously reflect on it. At the same time, the language of theatre is used to communicate important topics to children and young people in an understandable way that supports them as they orientate themselves in the world.

Polárka offers plays and other kinds of programs targeting young children and their families, teenage spectators and adults. Visitors to the theatre can experience both imaginative fairy tales and “adult” dramas and we also produce special events for many different occasions, often based on the theatre’s musical group, Polaris.
