FUGUE 89

obr

An original Czech-German documentary performance, the basis of which is a live video book, thematizes the last 40+ years in the North Bohemian and Saxon borderlands and presents the life experience of this shared space. The audiovisual work culminates in a ritual in which the future of the existence of this world is prophesied through the presence. The artistic duo VerRich, in dialogue with the legendary Swiss musician and sound activist dave phillips, create a fugue of experiences in which voices from the past and present, human, animal and landscape voices, going together and against each other, connect with images, smells and stinks in a sensory experience full of excitement. With the powerful support of Karel Gott and the natural worlds, the performance is dedicated to the brothers Jan and other known and unknown human torchbearers.
Come to remember the time a few decades ago and meet where we are today!
The performance is bilingual (Czech-German).

About the company:

Veronika Kyrianová and Richard Němec have been working together since 2015 as the artistic duo VerRich and the independent production unit GOGLMOGL produktion, which is newly profiled as a registered association of the same name. Our goal is to organize artistic, cultural and educational projects and activities primarily in the territory of northern Bohemia and in the Czech-German-Polish border region. The association has its seat in a historical, heritage-protected building Bohatická Rychta in the village of Bohatice near Česká Lípa. We are trying to preserve and further develop the heritage of this monument and site. In the future, an art center is to be established here, and the space is already being offered for artist residencies.
In recent years, VerRich and GOGLMOGL produktion realized together, among other things, the audio installation “Memory of one Pogelberg” (Bohatická Rychta, in cooperation with Contriology, 2022), a project on regional culture “In the Wheel of Fortune and Destiny” (Česká Lípa, 2022), Czech-German documentary performance “Zone of Contact” (Hraničář Public Hall, Ústí n. L. and JohannStadthalle, Dresden, 2021), Czech-German audiovisual performance “FUGUE 89” (Hraničář Public Hall, Ústí n. L., 2019), performative exhibitions “OUR DEMANDS ARE” (Kampus Hybernská, Prague, 2019) and “SOVIET OCCUPATION from the beginning till the end” (Vlastivědné Museum and Gallery in Česká Lípa and the Held Museum in Zákupy, 2018) with a rich accompanying program (e.g. Evening of Czechoslovak-Soviet friendship after 50 years, 2018) and an authors‘ project “Why did AMOK possess Mr. R.? ” (MeetFactory, Prague, 2017) and a conference on the theme of romantic love, LÁSKA ® (Venus days in Venus festival in Švehlovka, Prague, 2017).
