Akropolis

Palác Akropolis is a multicultural artistic venue that hosts over 200 music and theatre events every year. It focuses on current artistic trends in music, theatre and multimedia, and is open to a range of independent artists and club activities, thus providing a creative setting where sophisticated and conceptual dramaturgy is created. The unique space of Palác Akropolis, decorated by the Czech artist František Skála, offers a number of possibilities for a diverse programme. Palác Akropolis is the home stage for several artistic theatre groups, such as the Spitfire Company (focusing on physical, experimental, and dance theatre), Fekete Seretlek (focusing on puppet shows) or Tantehorse, whose activities are based on strong physical articulation. For the ninth year in a row, the Palác Akropolis has been a co-organiser of the international contemporary circus festival CIRKOPOLIS, which presents contemporary circus artists from both the Czech Republic and abroad.
