Founded in 2009, the Prague Street Theatre Festival Behind the Door is the first festival in the Czech Republic that continuously tracks current street theatre events. The festival’s dramaturgy focuses on European projects and companies, and brings the theatre in a modern and unusual form to non-theatrical venues. This approach creates a unique symbiosis of live art with the place’s genius loci. Several Czech and Prague premieres take place every year During the Behind the Doors Festival. As a pioneer of street art, the festival presents many ensembles in their Czech premiere and introduces them to the general and professional public.
