Duncan Centre Conservatory

obr

Duncan Centre Conservatory is a school of contemporary dance. In September 1992, the Duncan Centre Conservatory was added to the network of state schools operating under the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. The establishment of the conservatory created space for a part of our culture which had long been ignored – a space for contemporary stage dance and dance theatre. It is currently the only state school in the Czech Republic systematically orientated towards education in this sphere. The educational programme at the Duncan Centre Conservatory is designed so that its graduates will be able to find their places as professionals in the contemporary dance field. Based on their area of specialisation, graduates of the Duncan Centre Conservatory can work as effective dance artists, choreographers, dance teachers, or art therapists. The aim of the conservatory is to produce universal artists. The content of the education therefore enables students to continue, after their leaving exams, their studies in the arts, human sciences or pedagogy at the university level.
