Even though it’s no longer the youngest (it was composed more than 150 years ago), its ability to amuse spectators endures to this day. And what if puppeteers began to perform it? That would be a spectacle worth watching! So join us up at the village fair, where the beer flows freely, the older generation interferes with Mařenka and Jeník’s love, a drunk bear scares the villagers, stuttering Vašek is a fool to behold and Kecal finally realises that he can’t manage everything…

About the Company

Puppet Theatre Ostrava is a professional company with a stable artistic ensemble, established by the city of Ostrava. Founded in 1953, it moved into a new building in 1999. The theatre’s creations are mainly intended for audiences of children and young people. The theatre also organises the international festival Spectaculo Interesse – a juried showcase of the best puppet performances from around the world.
