The ones in power aren’t always in the right…
Shakespeare’s 13th and final comedy. A 400-year-old play dealing with the essential themes of the human condition, morals that are preached by everyone but heeded by none, and how easily power can be abused. The main character of the play is Duke Vincentio, ruler of Vienna, where adultery, prostitution and other indecency has been booming for 14 years despite its strict legislation. Vincentio names the nobleman Angelo as his temporary deputy and disguises himself as a monk to secretly watch as this respectable arbiter of morality and purity attempts to reinstate order. Angelo fails and starts abusing his power.
