Macbeth – Too Much Blood is variation on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, in which we cannot be sure whether the action takes place in the past, present, or far future. The world of this Macbeth speaks a universal language, in which there is no longer space for transcendence and philosophical thought: a language which names reality simply and inexorably.
Only one language and a few words now suffice to understand this world. Macbeth – Too Much Blood is a dark, bluegrass-infused comedy on a classic theme that blends absurdity with melancholy.

About the Company
The Theatre on the Balustrade is a leader in current theatrical trends and has received some of the highest honours in Czech theatre, including: Theatre of the year 2014; and Best Performance of 2013 (The Golden Sixties), 2014 (Velvet Havel) and 2017 (Macbeth – Too Much Blood). In recent seasons, the theatre has been invited to prestigious festivals in Austria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Germany, Columbia, France, the United Kingdom and the USA.
