The Between Projekt (work in progress)
Cie Pieds Perchés presentsacomedy on ropes about WhatsApp or Instagram. On the borders of new circus and physical theatre, The Between Projekt examineseverything we’re (not) saying in the 21st century. Are Facebook friends really our friends? How much of what we post on Facebook is real? Is the ‘like’ becoming a unit for measuring happiness? This performance deals with interpersonal relationships, or more precisely, how we create and maintain relationships with our surroundings in concert with the use of modern technology. How have mobile phones, the internet, text messages, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram changed our views of the world and the people around us? All this is explored and expressed through aerial rope.
About the Company
Cie Pieds Perchés was founded in 2009 by Swiss artists Morgane Widmer and Stéphanie N’Duhirahe. Their performances emerge from techniques of new circus; both performers specialise in the aerial rope. Morgane graduated from ESAC (School of Circus Art in Brussels) and Stéphanie studied at École de cirque de Québec. Some of the performers of the company are based in the Czech Republic.
