The grant heading Mobility was created to support projects abroad as well as international cooperation. It supports networking activities, such as conferences, internships, workshops and professional events focusing on the stimulation of international cooperation, professional growth and development.

The call Mobility II is designed for projects implemented in 2023. The applicants (natural and legal persons) and state-supported organizations could send their application in grant ranges including the support of the presentation of artists and Czech culture at important international showcases, festivals, and fairs, as well as the support of the development of skills, mobility, networking, and international cooperation. In 2022, the call was designed for state-supported organizations only and the public sector could join in 2023, too. Another call for 2024 will be launched this September. It is expected that the program improves the international activities of professionals in cultural and creative industries and helps renew the disrupted networks of cooperation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

These are some of the supported projects:

Festival Quartiers Danses Montréal – Czech Focus, Tanec Praha z.ú., the range of presentations of CCI professionals abroad. The heart of the project is the participation of selected productions at the Check the Czechs presentation at Quartiers Danses Montréal. The detailed program is subject to upcoming negotiations. The festival in Montréal, which specializes in dance only, aims to adapt various forms of contemporary dance to everybody. It focuses on the presentation of local artists, but it also works with international authors.

Alfa Plzeň Theatre residency in PUK Theatre Tokyo – the preparation of the Czech-Japanese project called, ALFA Theatre, the range: preparation – support of the participation in creative and managerial residencies and internships abroad. The project focuses on the residency of the five-member team of the Alfa Theatre and PUK Theatre in Tokyo. The output will be the “Čáslavská” show on tour in Japan in 2024 and at European and Asian theatre festivals. The Czech-Japanese show “Čáslavská” tells the story of Věra Čáslavská, who became one of the heroines of the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964. The Japanese still remember them as their national triumph, which helped them change the point of view of their country after WWII. The production will follow Čáslavská’s life, which mirrors the political history of our country.
